A note from the founder

Our story

I miss home.

Every time I go back to Costa Rica, where my parents and lifelong friends live, I'm reminded how hard it is to find meaningful keepsakes — the kind you see in gift shops where I live now.

Whenever I travel, I bring something back. Usually a magnet. It's easy to pack, won't break. I'll see it later on my fridge and instantly remember how it felt to be there.

When I go back to visit, I'm in incredible places — hiking, exploring, completely present. And then when it's time to leave, I can't find anything that really captures that moment.

I get homesick. And that absence stays with me.

So I decided to create what I had been looking for.

When you take something from Bruma home, I want it to bring you back. To the soft sand and warm water of Nosara. To the heavy rain on your skin as you walk under the canopy in Monteverde. To the sight of Arenal at night, that faint glow cutting through the dark.

For that feeling of longing for a place that means something to you.

Wherever you are, you can feel it again.
